Plinko game in India: the real versions, the demo, and the earning-app scam
A ball drops through a triangle of pegs and lands in a multiplier bucket. That is Plinko, and in India it comes in two forms: a provably fair casino game with a 97% to 99% RTP, and a flood of Play Store 'earning apps' that use the name and never pay. We cover both.
Plinko is the odd one out on this site. It is not a crash game. There is no multiplier climbing, no cash-out moment, no plane. A ball drops, bounces down a triangle of pegs, and lands in a bucket. But it sits in the crash section of every Indian casino lobby, it is provably fair like Aviator, and the people who play one play the other. So here it is.
In India it also has a problem none of the other games have to the same degree. Search "plinko game" and the top result is not Spribe's page or BGaming's. It is a Google Play app called "Plink Space - Play and Win", one of hundreds of "Plinko earning apps" that promise UPI withdrawals for free play and never deliver. We deal with that properly below. First, the real game.
Play the Plinko demo
Set it to 16 rows and high risk. Drop twenty balls. Count how many land in a bucket paying more than 1x. It will be three or four. Then switch to 8 rows and low risk and do the same. Nearly all of them pay something, and almost none pays much. That is the entire game in two minutes.
What Plinko is and where it comes from
The original is a pricing game from The Price Is Right, running on American television since 1983. A contestant drops a disc down a pegboard and wins whatever cash slot it lands in. The casino version keeps the board and replaces the cash slots with multipliers.
Spribe, the studio behind Aviator, released its Plinko in January 2019. BGaming has one. Stake built its own as a Stake Original, and that version, with its clean board and 99% RTP, is what most people picture when they say "plinko game". Hacksaw, Turbo Games and a dozen others have versions too. They all share the mechanics: choose rows, choose risk, drop, collect.
Every drop is independent. The ball's path is decided by a provably fair random number drawn from a hashed server seed and your client seed, fixed before the ball is released. The animation is for show. The result was known to the server the instant you pressed drop.
Rows, risk and multipliers
Two settings control everything.
Rows. From 8 to 16. More rows means more buckets, a wider spread of multipliers, and a more extreme distribution. On 8 rows the best bucket might pay 29x and the worst 0.5x. On 16 rows the best pays 1,000x and the worst 0.2x.
Risk. Low, medium or high. Risk changes the multipliers assigned to the buckets, not the ball's physics. Low risk flattens the board: the centre buckets pay close to 1x and the edges pay modestly. High risk hollows it out: the centre pays well under your stake and the edges pay enormous amounts.
16 rows, high risk. The ball will land in the middle. It almost always does.
Here is the 16-row layout on the Spribe version, which is close to Stake's and BGaming's:
| Risk | Edge buckets | Next buckets in | Centre buckets | Where most balls land |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Low | 16x | 9x, 2x, 1.4x | 1x to 0.5x | 1x or just under |
| Medium | 110x | 41x, 10x, 5x | 0.5x to 0.3x | 0.5x or 1x |
| High | 1,000x | 130x, 26x, 9x | 0.2x | 0.2x |
The maths behind "where most balls land" is a binomial distribution. On 16 rows the ball makes 16 left-or-right bounces, each roughly 50/50. Landing in the centre bucket needs eight of each, which is the most likely outcome by far. Landing in an edge bucket needs sixteen of the same, which happens about once in 65,000 drops. The 1,000x multiplier is the price of that rarity, discounted by the house edge.
A rupee example on high risk, 16 rows, ₹10 per drop. Over 1,000 drops you would spend ₹10,000. The large majority of drops land in the 0.2x to 0.5x buckets, returning ₹2 to ₹5 each. A handful land in the 9x to 26x zone. Maybe one or two reach 130x. An edge hit is unlikely in 1,000 drops. The expected total return is about ₹9,900, with a real chance of being well under that if the big buckets do not show, and a small chance of being far over it if one does. That is high risk in a sentence: a slow bleed with a lottery stapled to it.
RTP by version
| Version | RTP | Max multiplier | Where Indians find it |
|---|---|---|---|
| Spribe Plinko | 97% low risk to 99% high risk | 1,000x | 1win, Mostbet, 4rabet, 1xBet, Melbet |
| BGaming Plinko | 99% | 1,000x | 1win, 1xBet |
| Stake Plinko (original) | 99% | 1,000x | Stake only |
| Turbo Games Plinko | 95% to 97% | 1,000x | 1xBet, Melbet |
| Hacksaw Plinko | 96% to 98% | varies | 1xBet, crypto casinos |
Note the spread. Picking Turbo Games' version over BGaming's at the same casino costs you two to four percentage points on every drop for no benefit. Check the studio name under the thumbnail before you play. The global Plinko page compares the versions in more detail.
Where to play Plinko in India
All of these carry at least the Spribe version, take UPI, and have paid our India editor. The order is our preference.

2Mostbet
Spribe Plinko under Casino > Crash; auto play up to 100 drops; UTR sometimes requested on deposit.

41xBet
Plinko page with its own URL, plus three or four other Plinko variants in the catalogue; cluttered app.
A separate note on Stake. Stake's Plinko is the most-searched single version in India, around 12,000 searches a month for "plinko game stake.com" alone. Stake is a crypto casino, so there is no UPI, and access from India varies. We have a dedicated page on Plinko at Stake covering the game, the crypto route and what the mirror sites are.
Depositing with UPI and withdrawing
The flow is the same at every brand above. Open Deposit, choose UPI (or PhonePe, Google Pay, Paytm, which all resolve to a UPI transfer), enter an amount above the minimum (₹300 at 1win and 4rabet, ₹500 at Mostbet and 1xBet), pay the UPI ID or QR shown from your own app within the 10 to 15 minute window, and paste the UTR if asked. The balance credits in a few minutes.
Withdrawals go back to a UPI ID or an IMPS bank transfer, minimum ₹500 to ₹1,000, and take from twenty minutes to a day depending on the brand and the day of the week. The first one triggers KYC: Aadhaar or PAN plus a selfie. That is normal. USDT on TRC-20 is the fallback if your bank has started questioning UPI payments to unfamiliar names. The full step-by-step is on the India hub.
The Plinko earning app scam
This is the part of the Indian Plinko market that the studio pages do not mention and the operator pages have no reason to.

Open Google Play and search Plinko. You will find dozens of apps: "Plink Space - Play and Win", "Plink Online - Real Win x1000", "Plinko Master Cash", and whatever has been uploaded this week. The screenshots show rupee balances, UPI logos and withdrawal confirmations. The reviews, at least the ones at the top, say it paid.
Here is how they work. You install, you drop balls, your balance climbs quickly at first. Every few drops a rewarded video ad plays. The withdrawal screen says you can cash out at ₹5,000. You reach ₹4,500 and the earnings per drop fall off a cliff. You reach ₹4,980 and the app wants you to watch 30 ads to unlock the final stretch, or invite five friends, or wait 72 hours. The withdrawal, when you finally request it, is "under review", then "failed", then the app has been removed from the store and a new one with a new name has taken its place.
Nobody has been paid by one of these. The developer earns from the ads you watched. The rupee balance was a number in a text field.
Three ways to tell the fake from the real in ten seconds:
- The real Plinko needs a deposit. It lives inside a casino. If an app says you can earn without ever putting money in, it is an ad farm.
- The real Plinko names its studio. Spribe, BGaming, Stake. The clones have developer names like "Joker Games Studio" and a Gmail support address.
- The real Plinko is not on Google Play in India. Google does not list real-money gambling here. Anything on the Play Store with Plinko in the name is, by definition, not the casino game.
We are not telling you the real Plinko is a good way to make money. It has a house edge, and the house edge wins over time. We are telling you the fake Plinko is not a way to make money at all.
Strategy, and why there is none
Each drop is independent and the outcome is fixed before the ball moves. No pattern in previous drops predicts the next one. No row count or risk level has a hidden better return. Auto play, which runs up to 100 drops at a fixed stake, is useful because it removes the temptation to chase, and dangerous because 100 drops at ₹50 is ₹5,000 gone in under two minutes on a bad run.
What is worth doing: decide a stake, a drop count and a stop-loss before you start, and use auto play's built-in stop conditions to enforce them. Choose rows and risk for the session you want, not the win you want. Low risk on 8 rows is a slow, sociable way to lose 1% to 3% of your turnover. High risk on 16 rows is a way to lose 1% on average while feeling like you are losing much more, because you are, until the one drop that is not.
The "Plinko predictor" and "Plinko hack" results that follow the game around in Indian search are the same thing as the Aviator ones: random number generators, phishing, or affiliate funnels. Our predictor guide explains the provably fair system that makes prediction impossible, and the explanation applies to Plinko without changes.
Legal position in India
There is no Indian licence for Plinko or any real-money online game. The Promotion and Regulation of Online Gaming Act 2025 bans real-money games offered from within India and puts the liability on operators, payment processors and advertisers. The casinos above are licensed abroad and continue to serve Indian players; the Act does not target the player, and it does not protect them either. Play only if it is legal where you live, and only with money you can afford to lose.
If you came here for a crash game rather than a drop game, the two closest relatives are Mines, which has the same provably fair core with a cash-out decision, and Chicken Road, which is Mines on a road.
If gambling has stopped being fun, iCall (9152987821) and the Vandrevala Foundation (1860 2662 345) are free and confidential. 18+ only.
Frequently asked questions
What is the Plinko game?
Plinko is a casino game where a ball drops from the top of a triangle of pegs, bounces left or right at each row, and lands in one of the buckets along the bottom. Each bucket has a multiplier. The edge buckets pay the most and the centre buckets pay less than your stake. You choose how many rows and which risk level. It is based on the Price Is Right game from US television.
Is the Plinko earning app real?
No. The Plinko apps on Google Play that promise withdrawals to UPI or Paytm for free play are rewarded-ad games with a fake cash-out screen. The target moves, the ads multiply, the payout never arrives. The real Plinko is a casino game made by Spribe, BGaming, Stake and others, and it pays only in the same way any casino game does: against a house edge, after a deposit.
What is the RTP of Plinko?
It depends on the version. Spribe's Plinko is 97% at low risk and up to 99% at high risk. BGaming's is 99%. Stake's original is 99% at every setting. The RTP is fixed by the studio and does not change by casino. 99% means a 1% house edge, which is the lowest in the crash lobby, and still an edge.
Can I play Plinko for free?
Yes. The demo on this page is Spribe's official one with play money. Every casino that carries Plinko has a demo toggle inside the game too. The demo shows the full multiplier layout for every row and risk setting, so use it to see what 16 rows on high risk actually looks like before putting rupees on it.
What is the maximum win in Plinko?
1,000x the stake on Spribe's and Stake's versions, reached only in the two edge buckets at 16 rows on high risk. BGaming's is also 1,000x. A ₹10 drop that lands in an edge bucket pays ₹10,000. The chance of that landing is about one in 65,000 per drop, which is why the bucket pays what it does.
Is Plinko legal in India?
There is no Indian licence for it. The Promotion and Regulation of Online Gaming Act 2025 bans real-money games offered from within India, targeting operators and payment processors rather than players. The casinos that carry Plinko are offshore and continue to accept Indian players. Play only if it is legal where you live.
Which risk level is best in Plinko?
None is better in expected return; the RTP is the same or within a point across settings. Low risk gives many small results and a slow session. High risk gives mostly sub-1x results with rare large hits. Pick by how you want the session to feel. If you have a small bankroll and want it to last, low risk on 8 or 12 rows is the sensible choice.
Is there a Plinko strategy that works?
No strategy changes the odds. Each drop is independent and provably fair. What you can control is session length and variance: stake size, number of rows, risk level, and when you stop. Auto play with a fixed stop-loss is the closest thing to a strategy because it removes the urge to chase. Anything sold as a Plinko trick or predictor is noise.
