Crash X: Turbo Games' bare-bones crash

No story, no character, no jackpot. A line rises, a number climbs, you cash out or you do not. Crash X is the crash game reduced to its mechanics, and the one thing you must check before you play is the RTP, because this is a title where the casino chooses it.

Turbo Games is a small studio that makes fast instant games for crypto casinos and the 1xBet family of bookmakers. Crash X, from March 2021, is the crash title in that catalogue, and it is the least decorated crash game we have played. There is a dark background, a line, a number and two bet buttons. We quite like that. What we do not like, and what this page is mostly about, is that the game ships with a configurable RTP, so two sites can offer the identical product at different odds.

What is Crash X?

Crash X is a multiplayer crash game. Each round a multiplier starts at 1.00x and climbs, drawn as a line rising across a space-themed background. At a random moment the line stops, the round crashes, and every bet still in play is lost. Cash out before that and you win the stake times the multiplier at the moment you pressed.

You get two bet panels with separate stakes and auto cash-out values, an autoplay mode with stop limits, a history strip of recent crash points and a small live bets feed. That is the complete feature list. There is no jackpot, no character, no rain promo, no tournament and no provably fair panel. Turbo Games built it to load in two seconds on a cheap phone, and it does.

For a lot of players that is a virtue. Aviator has a social panel and chat that make long sessions bearable and short sessions slower. Crash X has neither. You open it, play twenty rounds in three minutes, and close it.

How to play Crash X

  1. Open the info panel first. Press the "i" or settings icon and read the RTP line. If it says 95%, consider a different game. If it says 97%, carry on.
  2. Set a stake in one or both panels. Minimum 0.10 at most operators, maximum 100 per panel.
  3. Place the bet during the short interval. Rounds restart quickly. Late bets go on the next round.
  4. Cash out before the crash. Press the button or let auto cash-out do it at the multiplier you set.
  5. Or lose the stake. The next round is seconds away, which is the point and the danger.

Crash X round with the multiplier line at 1.8x against a dark space background 1.8x. No chat, no live feed to speak of, nothing to look at but the number.

Crash X RTP: 95% or 97%, and why it matters

Most crash games have a fixed RTP set by the developer. Aviator is 97% everywhere. JetX is 97% everywhere. Crash X is not like that. Turbo Games delivers the game with a range of RTP settings and the casino picks one. Slotcatalog lists the game at 95% with a note that ranges exist. The information panel at 1xBet shows 97%. We have seen 96% at a third site.

Two percentage points sound small. They are not. At 97% the house edge is 3%; at 95% it is 5%. That is a 67% increase in what the game costs you per round. On a game where you can comfortably play 300 rounds in an hour, the difference between the two settings is roughly 6 units of a 1-unit stake per hour, in expectation, every hour.

RTP setting House edge Chance of reaching 2x Expected cost of 300 rounds at 1 unit
97% 3% 48.5% 9 units
96% 4% 48.0% 12 units
95% 5% 47.5% 15 units

The practical rule: Crash X at 97% is a perfectly ordinary crash game. Crash X at 95% is the worst-value crash game in the lobby, and the only reason to play it is that you have not checked. Press the "i".

Features, briefly

Two bets. Each panel has its own stake and auto cash-out. The safe-bet-plus-riding-bet pattern works here as everywhere, and as everywhere it lowers variance without touching the edge.

Auto cash-out. Essential. Rounds in Crash X move quickly and the crash is abrupt; reaction time is a bigger leak here than in slower games. Set a target before every round.

Autoplay with limits. Number of rounds, stop on profit, stop on loss. The stop-on-loss field is the best feature in the game. Use it even when playing by hand, by deciding the number in advance.

No provably fair panel. Crash X runs on Turbo Games' certified RNG. The crash point is set before the round starts, which is the guarantee that matters, but you cannot recompute it yourself the way you can in Aviator or Limbo. The "Crash X predictor" apps are fake for the usual reasons, explained in are crash games rigged?.

Crash X vs Aviator vs JetX

Our view: if Crash X is at 97% and you want a crash game that gets out of your way, it is fine, and the speed is genuinely pleasant for a short session. If you can only find it at 95%, JetX in the same lobby is two points better and has a jackpot. We would not open Crash X for an evening. We would, and do, open it for ten minutes.

Frequently asked questions

What is Crash X?

Crash X is a crash game by Turbo Games, released in March 2021. A multiplier climbs from 1.00x and crashes at a random point. Cash out before it and you win the stake times the multiplier. It has two bet panels, auto cash-out and autoplay, and nothing else. It is the simplest crash game in most lobbies.

What is the RTP of Crash X?

It depends on the casino. Turbo Games ships Crash X with configurable RTP, and operators run it anywhere from 95% to 97%. Slotcatalog lists 95%; 1xBet's information panel shows 97%. A two-point difference doubles the house edge from 3% to 5%, so open the info panel at your site before you stake anything.

What is the maximum win in Crash X?

The multiplier is capped at 1,000x at most operators, and the maximum payout per round is set by the casino, usually in the region of 1,000 to 10,000 in your currency. It is a lower ceiling than Aviator or Space XY. For a game this fast, the cap rarely matters; the house edge matters every round.

Can I play Crash X for free?

Yes, most sites that carry it have a demo toggle inside the game that works without an account. Turbo Games does not host a public demo, so there is nothing embedded on this page. The demo uses the same multiplier distribution and the same RTP setting as the real-money version at that site.

Is Crash X better than Aviator?

No. At the 97% setting it is the same bet with fewer features and no provably fair panel. At 95% it is a worse bet. The only reason to prefer Crash X is pace: rounds are shorter and the interface loads faster, which is a feature if you have ten minutes and a drawback if you have an evening.
